MEET BOB

NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY

While in the military, my family and I served all around the United States and the globe, experiencing different cultures, customs, and people - Alabama, Colorado, Germany, Georgia, Korea, Hawaii, Japan, Texas, and Virginia. My combat and operational deployments include Somalia, Bosnia, Kuwait, and northern Japan after the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster. In addition to my military duties, I volunteered in various groups and activities such as coaching my kids’ soccer team; President and Vice President of a high school Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA); AWANA Leader and Club Leader; as well as Elder and Chairman of Elders of my church. In addition, I attended classes at night and on weekends to earn my Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Oklahoma.

In the Craven County Republican Party, I am a former Member-at-Large for Precincts (Organization and Training), a former County Chairman, and most recently the former Member-at Large for Human Resources (Volunteer Coordinator). I am the current secretary for the North Carolina Federation of Republican Men. I am also a member-at-large in the 3rd Congressional District.

In 2022, after a delayed election due to COVID, I was elected as a City of New Bern Alderman. I initiated and filled a Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee that advises, prioritizes, and helps find funding for sidewalk and bike lane projects. This citizen board also provides accountability and focus on the city staff and elected officials for these priorities. I work as the City of New Bern's appointee to the New Bern Area Metropolitan Planning Organization and the Civil Military Affairs Commission at Cherry Point. In 2023, only four months after taking office, I was elected by my peers and served as the Mayor Pro Tempe.
