"I am a Christian, a Conservative, and a Republican, in that order. My allegiances are to my God, my wife, my children, and my country, also in that order. Those are not mere words; I am a man of action. I am a current Alderman for the City of New Bern and am an active volunteer in Republican, Veterans, and community organizations."
BOB BRINSON
EDUCATION
I am a New Bern native. After graduating from New Bern Senior High School where I was Senior Class President, I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. There, I not only learned how to be a successful leader in our nation’s military, but I met my lovely bride, Amy. I served as my company’s Honor Representative for two years, teaching and inspiring cadets as a mentor to live up to the Academy’s honor code. There I also internalized the Academy’s motto of “Duty, Honor, Country,” and the goal of “Inspiring Cadets to a Lifetime of Service to the Nation.” After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, I became an Aviation Officer in the US Army. Amy and I were wed after her graduation the following year. After a 28-year career, with the last six as an Inspector General, and at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, I transitioned out of the military with a continually happy and blessed marriage, three successful children, and chose to make New Bern my home once again. My wife, Amy, also had a successful 26-year Army career and retired as a Colonel. How could a dual-military couple both have successful careers and raise three well-adjusted children? One day at a time, a lot of hard work, and prayer.
PUBLIC SERVANT
My number one priority is being a public servant to you. I returned to Eastern North Carolina to continue my service after West Point and serving 28 years in the US Army as a helicopter pilot, logistician and Inspector General. I am running to serve my neighbors and keep servant leadership at the forefront. A public servant must be a person of character, available and responsive to you, honest and transparent, and who works hard for you. I pledge to be that person for Beaufort, Craven, and Lenoir counties. I have spent an entire career in service to the nation and the communities in which I lived. I am running for NC Senate District 3 so that I can now serve you - my neighbors in Beaufort, Craven, and Lenoir Counties. I am asking that you vote for me on November 5th.
SCHOOLS
My second priority is to fight for you. We need to continue to put parents rights back in schools. We need to continue to roll back abortion. We need to continue to take back 2nd Amendment rights. We need to continue to expand School Choice especially because some school districts are refusing to implement the Parent's Bill of Rights. We have to take our wins and keep inching the restrictions back in the same way that we lost them.
SAFETY & SECURITY
My third priority is the safety and security of our citizens. Every state is a border state. I support giving our law enforcement officers and firefighters the training, tools, and equipment they need to protect us. I will fight for your jobs with the department of defense and for the way of life of our farmers and fishermen.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Since I have been back in New Bern, I served on the Craven Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and currently serve on the Coastal Carolina Regional Airport Authority. I was the Judge Advocate for American Legion Post 539, the Vice Chair and Treasurer for the Veteran’s Council of Craven County (VCCC), and a member of Veterans of Foreign
Wars Post 2514 and their former delegate to the VCCC. I am a member of the New Bern Chamber of Commerce and the New Bern Military Alliance and participate in many of their events. I am a 2021 graduate of the Chamber’s Craven 101 Program. I am member of Union Point Church and participated as a leader in children's church (Point Peeps).
